Help us get a Chase Community Giving grant!

By Susan Aumiller, Community Relations Coordinator

Right now on Facebook, thousands of people are logging on  and voting for their favorite charity on Chase Community Giving’s page. HAVEN is one of the charities on the list. If we are within the top 100 when the voting ends on May 6, we will receive $25,000, and also have a shot for $500,000.

After you’ve taken the time to head to the HAVEN page and vote for us, consider editing your Facebook profile to reflect our cause. In a few easy steps, you can make your profile look like this:

 Here’s how to do it:

1. Save this photo to your computer and use it to replace your profile photo (right-click and Save Picture As)

2. Once you’ve logged onto Facebook, go to your profile and hover over your profile image until Change Picture appears and click that link. Click the Choose File button and find the main-photo.jpg image you just saved to your computer. Click OK and let the picture upload.

3. Look under your new profile image and click the Edit Thumbnail link. This will open a window that allows you to drag around the your profile image, and you can center VOTE HAVEN in the window, so it will show as your Facebook icon on the site. Click Save once you’ve fixed the logo.

4. Click View My Profile in the top right corner of your page and admire your new Facebook profile photo.

Make sure to also update your status, something similar to this may suffice:

“Please take a minute and vote for HAVEN for Chase Community Giving! They have the chance to win $25,000 or more!

You could also update your Twitter account or Linked In profile with the same information.

Thank you for helping get the word out, and here’s hoping we get enough votes!
